Finding Heaven on Earth is a process, as I have mentioned before. We are fortunate to find moments when we can really feel it. In those moments if we choose to stay in the present moment, we can pull that energy into our bodies and nourish our cells with divine energy.
Unfortunately, my experience is that despite my practice of connecting to that feeling of Heaven on Earth as often as possible, I often feel stuck in some other energy. It is easy to do if we pay attention to what is happening in many parts of this earth plane. It is even easy if we are in a growth stage of our life and outside of our comfort zone as we stretch into new ways of being and doing on this planet.
So what do we do when we feel stuck? I have various tools that I use. I usually have to change them up so that I don’t feel further stuck by using the same ol’ same ol’. Any of the tools require bringing my attention to the present moment. Focusing on my breath helps me to start the process. Listening to a guided meditation helps. Reading an inspirational story can help, too. Sometimes just getting physical through some kind of exercise will do the trick. I do whatever I can to get to a place that I can smile again. Just smiling for no reason can help shift my energy.
I know that if I am not feeling joy in this moment, then something needs to shift. It is up to me to do the shifting. I cannot depend on my circumstances to shift. That just creates a false co-dependency on the external.
So through whatever technique, I go to the quiet place inside. I know that if I quiet my mind enough, I can get to a place where I feel connected to the Divine. Yet sometimes, I need something more than that. Sometimes my thoughts are caught in a swirl of uneasiness. They won’t quiet down and my body feels tense and anxious.
That is when I ask for help. It may take a conversation with a friend or counselor. Or maybe just prayer. Some connect to the Holy Spirit or Jesus. Some connect to an angel or other helper in the Spirit realm. Some just connect to what they name Source or the Universe. What is important is knowing that there is so much assistance available to us and through us. We need only be willing and trust that we are being given all that we need in each moment.
The cool thing about any of these practices is that it does not matter what language we give to it. What matters is how it affects us. Do we get to a place of peace and love? Can we start to feel joy when we were feeling sadness or despair a few moments before? It is always available to us, and our Creator has given us many ways to know it.
Expressing gratitude for all of the gifts we have available to us, can also shift our energy in a short period. We become more aware of all the good things in our life. Our attention shifts from what we perceive as problems. The shift in perception affects our energy and outlook. We can move to place where the energy always available to us gets unstuck and begins to flow. We feel connected and no longer alone. We can feel supported and loved.
Please join me in a brief meditation in which we express gratitude for the simple things in our life that mean so much. As we express gratitude, we will feel ourselves connect to divine flow. That flow lifts us up and allows us to feel what is naturally ours – joy, peace, and love.
